Crispy Airfryer Sweet Potato Fries – Ayurvedic & Delicious

My alltime favorite!!!! But they always get soggy.... This way they taste amazing to me. These crispy airfryer sweet potato fries are the perfect combination of crunchy, flavorful, and nourishing! Using arrowroot powder for extra crispiness and topped with delicious extras like homemade mayo or truffle sour cream, they make the perfect side dish or snack. Plus, you can easily customize them based on your Ayurvedic dosha for optimal digestion and balance!

Ingredients

  • 1 large sweet potato (cut into fries)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (or see Ayurvedic recommendations below)

  • 1 tbsp arrowroot powder (for crispiness)

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ¼ tsp turmeric

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • Celtic sea salt, to taste

  • Optional toppings: Grana Padano, homemade mayo, truffle mayo, or sour cream with fresh herbs

Instructions

  1. Prep the fries: Cut the sweet potato into fries and pat them dry with a paper towel.

  2. First airfryer round: Toss the fries with olive oil and airfry at 200°C for 8 minutes.

  3. Coating mix: In a bowl, mix the arrowroot powder, paprika, garlic powder, turmeric, and black pepper.

  4. Coat the fries: Toss the half-cooked fries in the spice mixture, adding a little more oil if needed.

  5. Final airfryer round: Put them back in the airfryer for another 8 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. Finishing touches: Top with Grana Padano, homemade mayo (or truffle mayo), sour cream with fresh herbs, and a sprinkle of Celtic salt. Enjoy!

Ayurvedic Adjustments per Dosha

For Vata (dry, cold, light, mobile)

  • Oil: Use sesame oil instead of olive oil (more warming and grounding).

  • Spices: Add cumin, cinnamon, or ginger for extra warmth.

  • Toppings: Opt for sour cream with fresh dill or cilantro for easier digestion.

For Pitta (hot, sharp, intense, fiery)

  • Oil: Use coconut oil (cooling) instead of olive oil.

  • Spices: Use coriander, fennel, or mint.

  • Toppings: Choose plain sour cream over mayo to keep it cooling.

For Kapha (heavy, cold, slow, moist)

  • Oil: Stick with olive oil or try mustard oil (stimulating).

  • Spices: Add chili flakes, black pepper, or dried ginger for extra heat.

  • Toppings: Avoid heavy toppings like mayo—a sprinkle of nutritional yeast or fresh parsley is a better option.

Enjoy these crispy sweet potato fries with an Ayurvedic twist, perfectly suited for your dosha! 😊
